Enjoy the authentic Christmas mood in Verona

If the idea of spending Christmas holidays in Verona intrigues you, we are happy to suggest what to do at the end of the year in the town where Pandoro is born, one of the typical Christmas sweets known throughout Italy and abroad.

Before thinking about the gastronomic delicacies we have prepared an itinerary that includes the most characteristic Christmas markets and the main attractions of the Romeo and Juliet homeland.

One of the reasons that make these holidays long-awaited is the gifts exchange, why not take advantage and buy local products at Verona Christmas markets?

You'll find these markets at Piazza dei Signori (also known as Piazza Dante), in the Courtyard of Mercato Vecchio, in the Courtyard of Tribunale and at Piazza Indipendenza from Sunday to Thursday from 10.00 am to 9.30 pm, and on Friday, Saturday and pre-bank holidays from 10.00 am to 11.00 pm, up to 28th December.

In Verona there are the wooden houses of the "Christkindlmarkt" instead of the usual stands, here you can buy decorations for the Christmas tree and the Manger, handmade products in glass, wood or ceramics, or typical Veronese food products. In this period, is possible to join many individual or group guided tours to discover Verona with the help of an experienced tour guide.

The Walking Tour, for example, is held every Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 pm and includes as stages the most important monuments and hidden gems of the town: did you know that Verona hosts the biggest Comet in the world? It is a sculpture almost 70 meters long located in Piazza Bra.

The tour of the Mangers, however, is dedicated to the International Festival of the Nativity in Art and Tradition, which for 31 years is held in Verona: 400 Mangers from around the world will be on display in the corridors under the tiers of the Arena, a unique set for one of the symbols of these festivities.

When you'll arrive at the historic center you will be greeted by the new energy-efficient illuminations, a sort of elegant dress that wraps our beloved town throughout the Christmas period. To book guided tours, we suggest visiting the website: www.nataleinpiazza.it.

Make your holiday an unforgettable moment attending events scheduled until the end of the year.
