The prestigious tradition of Teatro Stabile di Verona

We believe that to fall in love with a place like Verona, a tourist must go beyond the beaten path and the most popular monuments: the historic center sets aside attractions that reveal the Verona vocation for art and culture in all the shapes.

The Teatro Nuovo, located at Piazza Viviani 10, is one of the main Italian theaters and here is scheduled each year two prestigious theater seasons; Il Grande Teatro (the classics that everyone should know) and Divertiamoci a Teatro, focused on the best brilliant comedy shows.

For this reason, we recommend attending one of the events scheduled at this venue, now home to the Teatro Stabile di Verona since the restoration happened in 1949. At a few steps from Piazza delle Erbe you will notice the facade of the theater with a colonnade in white and gray stone, while inside the elegant gilt decoration give it an austere look to the stage and the theater interiors.

The Teatro Nuovo is next to Juliet's house and has a large terrace that can be rented for events and gala dinners, a romantic setting that offers a magnificent view: from here, in fact, you can admire the balcony and the statue of Juliet, a tribute to a love story told by Shakespeare and well-known all over the world.

What to see in Verona theater

About the shows, in November we suggest to see "Othello, the H is silent" by the Oblivion company, a parody version of the Othello story realized by Shakespeare, Verdi and Rossini (the event is scheduled from 18th to 20th November); from 2nd to 4th December will be staged Beppe Fiorello with “Penso che un sogno così...” directed by Giampiero Solari, while the season Il Grande Teatro offers the shows “Enrico IV” by Pirandello, directed by Franco Branciaroli (from 25th to 30th November) and “Il Giardino dei Ciliegi” by Cechov, directed by Luca De Fusco (from 16th to 21st December).

Going to the theater is a choice that never goes out of fashion, take advantage of your next trip to Verona, we are confident that you won't be disappointed.
