Reviving the past in Verona

Going vintage market shopping is one of the nicest things to do during your holiday. Vintage markets have also become very popular among fashionists and collectors.

From books to clothes, to vintage object, rare printing, bric-a-brac, long play records, bizarre pieces of art and others particular objects for your special shopping in Verona. Wherever you go in Verona and in the surroundings, you’ll always find a town or village with an open street vintage market.

These are high in number, but they differ in types: besides the standard market we find another conventional type of market which is flea market (mercatino delle pulci in Italian). This have historical roots, since they appeared a long time ago, and they are usually associated to very specific types of objects.

It can be a good destination for collectors of all sorts looking for rare pieces that can no longer be found anywhere else, such as old newspapers, magazines and little things fashionable in 80’s or 90’s. As a style conscious, affluent city surrounded by skilled artisans and factories, Verona is a great place for shopping, especially the window variety. The historic centre is peppered with interesting little boutiques, and vintage markets.

Antique shops are in abundance as well, but bargain hunters should visit Piazza San Zeno from the 8.00 am to 5.00 pm on the third Saturday of the month for a bright and bustling flea market selling jewellery, stamps, clothes and the occasional vintage car. The flea market is on the first Sunday of every month from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm in Piazza San Zeno, Piazza Carrubbio, Piazza Pozza where you will find every sort of vintage objects such as old clothes, stamps, viniles and other.

The entry is free and you will find there at least fifty exhibitors between shop keeper experts, and a lot of various collectors. This vintage market is a unique occasion to look for vintage objects and antique trade, and rare collectible objects too.
