Verona as seen by writers

Verona has a very strong tie with literature and writers: many authors have found here inspiration for their works, both those who have decided to live here and those who have only spent a short time in the city.

One of the ways to celebrate this connection is an event dedicated to the readers and to the artistic heritage of Verona, which will be enhanced through stories, guided tours and meetings with experts. LibrarVerona is the name of the cultural festival that we recommend, scheduled from 16th to 19th October at Piazza dei Signori and Cortile del Mercato Vecchio, venues where will take place meetings, shows, a book fair and guided tours dedicated to the literary places of Verona.

Following the steps of Dante and Shakespeare

Waiting for the complete schedule of the event, we disclose that this year LibrarVerona will take place at the same time with Verona Gustosa, an initiative conceived for wine lovers and foodies who are curious about the Veronese specialties.

Match the beauties of Verona told in the books with the recipes and the DOC products that make it popular in the world is a great idea and a pretext to book a stay in the next weeks. About special events, on 19th October we suggest the Literary Treasure Hunt organized by Play the City, a team game that will help you discover the Veronese locations described by authors like Goethe and Byron, Ruskin, Dickens and many others.

Each Participant will have a kit with booklet, map and personalized bag, there are no requirements to join the game except the curiosity and desire to learn more about this city of a thousand stories. There will be a final party at Verona Gustosa stands, with wine and typical food tasting, a perfect ending to a compelling and instructive game.

The book fair Andar per libri will be the most awaited initiative by those who want to buy new books or rediscover the classics of literature. Browse Verona as a novel, the plot twists won't stop!
