This means that Verona and its province are ideal destinations for holidays with children or for romantic weekends, as from 6th December there will be many events in the historic center of Malcesine such as concerts, shows, exhibitions and craft markets.
The pictures exhibition curated by Angela Trawöger (from archive Toninelli), for example, will not be staged in a gallery, but along the streets and squares of the center, while the Castle will host the Magic Village of the Elves with shows for kids and adults, clowns, make-up artists for children and Santa's workshop.
These events are scheduled on 28th December, 1st and 4th January from 2.00 pm to 6.30 pm, but Malcesine is worth a visit any day of the week, we are sure that you will be struck by the Funivia delle nuvole (cable car of the clouds), which get you in 10 minutes to the summit of Monte Baldo, also known as the Garden of Europe because of its rich flora. It is, in fact, an isolated ecosystem in which there are 700 species of rare plants.
A part of the Christmas events will be held at the Palace of the Captains, one of the most charming venues of Malcesine: the palace is surrounded by a garden of palm trees overlooking Lake Garda and will also host the New Year's Eve concert on 31st December, a good idea to greet 2014 and celebrate with loved ones.
Until 6th January, you will have the chance to see a different side of Malcesine, an enchanted town where the tradition of Christmas involves all the inhabitants and where every place has a story to tell, just knowing how to listen.
